planning the night
Proposals, anniversaries and group tables in the sky
A small table high above Babin Kuk, built for an evening that's already an occasion — what to think about if you're organising it.
Check dates and seats ↗Planning checklist
| If you're planning | Worth knowing |
|---|---|
| A proposal | Tell the operator when booking so the table and timing can be arranged around it |
| A birthday or anniversary | The Sunset Dinner's sunset timing already builds in a natural high point to the evening |
| A group | Seats are booked per person on the one nightly sitting, so a group simply books the seats it needs |
Why this sitting suits an occasion
A table that only lifts once a night, timed to the sunset, with the wine already unlimited, does a lot of the work of making an evening feel organised before you've said a word to your table.
Telling the operator ahead of time
If there's a proposal, an anniversary or a particular reason for the booking, saying so when you book gives the operator the chance to work it into the table and the timing rather than finding out on the night.
Booking as a group
Seats are sold per person against the one Sunset Dinner sitting each evening, so a group simply books the number of seats it needs rather than a separate private event.
Photos while you're up there
Cameras and phones are allowed at the table, so the view over the Elaphiti Islands and the turn of the platform are both there to capture — large bags are the only thing the operator asks to leave off the table itself.
Dietary needs for a group
With three menus on offer — meat, fish and vegetarian — a mixed group can each choose separately, as long as preferences are flagged at the time of booking.
Booking ahead
With one sitting a night and a small table, booking well before the trip rather than once you've arrived in Dubrovnik is the safer way to secure the date you actually want.
